Nigel and Maz's Coup de Coeur 2

 Coup de Coeur  is  a motorcycle friendly Gite, Located at Caudies de Fenouilledes, near Perpignan, in the Pyrenees Orientales, in the  South of France in a quiet valley surrounded by vinyards and olive groves. 

The area  is famed for its Food, Wine, Spectacular Scenery, Hill Walking, Clean Beaches, Cathare Chateaux , Historic Villages and Wonderful Weather and, the best biking roads in Europe!. We are located within 40 minutes of the Mediterranean beaches, 60 minutes from Spain, 30 minutes from the ski slopes 2 hours from Andorra and 8 hours from Bilbao/Santander, in one of the hottest, sunniest valleys in the whole of France. 

The area is steeped in history, and is ideal for sightseeing or  for those that wish to simply "ride the roads" or those that just want to "chill out"  With over 300 sunny days a year (similar to the Caribbean) and the possibility of skiing in the mountains in the morning and the Mediterranean in the afternoon, Coup de Coeur is an ideal spot for exploring this exciting region. The Gite

The Gite is located in one of our quiet secluded gardens and has its own independent entrance, it is fully equipped for a couple or 2 people with its own private sun terrace and garden. I think the following pictures will describe it better than I can.

In our Village there is a good restaurant, a cafe/bar, bakery, very good little supermarket (with English newspapers (for those that need them), a pharmacy, several wine caves and a cooperative where you can taste all the wines before buying (hic!), there is a station where you can take a trip on our local tourist train, or you can just walk around the village and look at the houses some dating back to the 13th century and the remains of the 11th century castle. A river runs around the village and there are some small waterfalls /rapids a few hundred yards upstream where people bathe in the summer. 

There are so many other things to do in the region to occupy ones time here, white water rafting, hill walking, visiting deep gorges, Caves, roman aqueducts and chapels, medieval villages, the whole area is steeped in history, or you can simply chill in the garden or on the beaches if that is what is required.

Our gite is not really suitable for children or the disabled but is suitable for the elderly it is furnished with a double bed and a convertible sofa

It is fully equipped with a gas stove, oven, microwave, pots and pans, cutlery, crockery, bedding and towels, fan, room cooler, wifi internet,

Cost: Low season €300/week

          High Season €400/week (July1-mid September)

Bookings will be confirmed upon receipt of a 25% deposit ,the remainder of the payment will be due 6 weeks before the booking date

Although we prefer weekend to weekend bookings, mid week (ideal for cheap flights) bookings may be negotiated.
